This assignment has 3 parts to it. 1. Find one academic article on Walt Whitman’s poetry and write a one-page summary and response to that article. Use MLA guidelines for in-text citation. Include a Works Cited page. 2. Write a two-page analysis of a major theme in “Bartleby, The Scrivener.” Once you have identified the theme you want to examine, Write an introduction in which you provide the title, author, and an overview of the short story itself. End the introduction with a thesis that identifies the theme you will be examining. Be sure to link the theme to another major literary element, such as character, conflict, or symbolism. In your analysis, use evidence from the text to support and develop your thesis. 3. Compile an annotated bibliography of 10 sources that provides scholarly research on Emily Dickinson’s poetry. Your annotated bibliography should be in MLA format. The annotation should be one or two sentences that provide a brief summary of the article.
